The COVID-19 pandemic taught the events industry just how quickly circumstances can change.

Although the widespread restrictions of that period have ended, unexpected circumstances can still occasionally affect events.

If a serious situation outside your control affects your booking, please contact us as quickly as possible.

We will review the circumstances in accordance with the booking terms agreed at the time and work with you wherever reasonably possible.

Where a money-back guarantee forms part of the package or promotion you have booked, yes.

6. Does Steelasophical Perform at Virtual Events?

Yes, where appropriate.

Virtual entertainment became particularly popular during the pandemic and demonstrated that music can still connect people even when they aren’t physically in the same room.

Although most Steelasophical bookings are now live, in-person events, virtual or hybrid performances may be possible depending on the requirements of your event.

Because arriving at the advertised performance time is already too late.

Our performance time is when we should be ready to perform, not when we should be driving through the venue gates looking for somewhere to park.

Professional preparation takes time.

We need to allow for traffic, parking, unloading, locating the performance area, liaising with venue staff, setting up equipment, sound checks and changing into performance attire where required.

We would much rather arrive early and wait than arrive late and make our problem your problem.

Preparation is part of the service you’re paying for.

Playing steelpan well is only one part of being a professional event musician.

Professionalism includes communication before the event, appropriate equipment, presentation, punctuality, musical ability, experience, insurance, preparation, contingency planning and knowing how to behave in a professional venue environment.

A wedding is not a rehearsal.

A corporate event is not the place to discover that someone’s equipment doesn’t work.

Professional musicians prepare for the things guests never see.

When everything appears effortless, it is usually because a great deal of preparation happened beforehand.

Bigger isn’t automatically better.

The right line-up depends on your venue, guest numbers, available space, desired atmosphere and budget.

A solo steelpan performer can be ideal for wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions, intimate celebrations and sophisticated background entertainment.

A duo creates a stronger visual and musical presence and can work beautifully for larger receptions, parties and events where you want more live energy.

We would rather recommend the right-sized performance for your event than encourage you to spend money on something you don’t need.

15. What Is Your Payment Schedule?

Typically, a booking payment or deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance payable according to the terms stated in your booking agreement.

Dates are not considered fully secured simply because someone has requested a quotation or expressed an interest.

Yes.

Professional entertainment involves musical instruments, electrical equipment, speakers, cables, stands and sometimes performance areas surrounded by large numbers of guests.

Health and safety therefore isn’t an optional extra.

We take sensible precautions regarding equipment placement, electrical safety, cables, performance areas and interaction with venues.

Where documentation is required by a venue or event organiser, please discuss this with us in advance so the appropriate information can be supplied.

Safety isn’t glamorous.

But it is professional.

19. How Long Does Steelasophical Perform For?

27. How Far in Advance Should We Book Steelasophical?

As early as you can once you know you want us.

Popular wedding dates—particularly Saturdays during the spring and summer wedding season—can be booked well in advance.

Corporate Christmas events, summer parties and significant dates can also become busy.

Requesting a quotation does not automatically reserve your date.
