Guernsey Jersey Steel Band Hire

Guernsey Jersey

Steelasophical presented by Gary Trotman

The Islands feel like my home

Even though I am based on the Uk mainland, I have been travelling over to the Islands and performing here since the 1994. Steelasophical was booked as a 3pc traditional steel band back in the 90’s at the St. Pierre Park Hotel on Guernsey and at the original Cafe Des Artiste on Jersey.

That one performance at St. Pierre Park led to me being booked as a soloist to perform at a further 6 Xmas seasons entertaining guests and local residents. You could even find me down at the Baths Xmas morning bringing some Caribbean musical sunshine to the swimmers

Great to keep coming back

Steelasophical Steel Band Solo, Duo and Caribbean mobile Dj have been fortunate to have consistently performed on the Islands for more than 20 years. In more recent times, we have performed at such locations as The Old Government House, La Fregate on Guernsey, and a host of private weddings and parties on the Island of Jersey.

Value for your money

When you start your search for a Guernsey & Jersey Caribbean Steel Band and start to ask for prices and costings, you will find that there is a huge difference in the range of quotes that you receive back from the different musicians. No musician, Dj or Steel Band will ever admit to these, but this is actually what is happening:

So, where does your money go when you hire Steelasophical

  • Musicians Fee – Renumeration that goes directly to the full time professional musicians
  • TAX – Money set aside to be paid to HMRC
  • Expenses – Transportation, Across the channel travel, accommodation, meals
  • Planning – Time and resources used to administer your booking & communications
  • Inventory – Investment in purchasing, maintaining and repairs to instruments and equipment
  • Marketing – Activities to help you discover Guernsey & Jersey Steelasophical Caribbean Steel Band in the first place
  • Back Office – The money spent on day to day business costs
  • Profit – Payment that finally makes its way to the owner of the business

Ways to get a bad value entertainment

  1. Less skilled and experienced musicians are cheaper
  2. Musicians who pay no Tax can afford to be cheaper
  3. Musicians who don’t take the time to carefully plan for your performance are cheaper
  4. Those with no Licenses, Health & Safety docs nor Public Liability insurance are cheaper
  5. Musicians who are desperate for work are cheaper
  6. Part time, hobbyists, weekend musicians are cheaper
